Thomas, San Diego State Take Out UC San Diego

San Diego, CA (AHN) - San Diego State beat UC San Diego 77-52 Saturday afternoon. Malcom Thomas scored 20 points and had nine rebounds to lead the Aztecs.

Chase Tapley chipped in 11 points and Kelvin Davis had 10 for San Diego State.

Tyler Acevedo led the UC San Diego with 14 points.

Casey Ryan had eight points and eight rebounds.

The game was an exhibition game for the Tritons, although it was a regular season matchup for the Aztecs.

UC San Diego went 7:35 without scoring to start the second half.

San Diego State won its fifth straight season opener.

The Aztecs shot 59.3 percent for the game.
