Ashlee Simpson To Make Broadway Debut In "Chicago"

New York, NY (CNS) - Ashlee Simpson is moving from "Melrose Place" to Broadway. The 25-year-old singer/actress will be playing Roxie Hart in the musical "Chicago" for ten weeks.

Simpson has been tapped to play at the Ambassador Theater starting November 30.

This is the second time the mother-of-one played the iconic character. She was Roxie in a West End production in 2006. This will be her Broadway debut.

Her last album, "Bittersweet World," was released in 2008. It was recently announced that she was fired from The CW series "Melrose Place," with the producers saying her character has already fulfilled her role in the show.
