Granville Centre, Canada (AHN) - A historic Anglican church in Nova Scotia, Canada will be reborn as a Baptist church in Louisiana, replacing one destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.

After being dismantled, the 200-year-old All Saints Anglican Church will be trucked down to Louisiana, where it will serve as a Baptist church, Nova Scotia's Chronicle Herald reported.

Rev. Canon Ken Vaughn, with the Annapolis parish of the Anglican Church, told the Herald that he was glad to see the church go someplace it was needed.

The building ended up as a surplus in the Annapolis parish after some were consolidated in 2005.

The church will leave a cemetery behind, where a monument incorporating the church bell will be placed near the cemetery.

Contractors have already begun deconstructing the wooden building, and it will be ready to ship to Louisiana in two weeks.
