Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (CNS) - Madonna made a new friend last week while visiting Brazil. The pop superstar was surprised when a young boy who lived in Rio De Janeiro's Morro Dona Marta managed to sneak past her security guards to get up close and chat with Madonna.

Madonna was touring the large slum alongside Rio's Governor Sergio Cabral when the boy climbed up on the staircase and offered to be her tour guide. Madonna laughed and seemed charmed as the boy climbed up in an attempt to reach her.

Madonna was touring the area in hopes of helping the residents who live there. She is also in the process of setting up a new Brazilian children's charity, Success for Kids. The 51-year-old was able to snag a hefty donation of $7 million from the country's richest man, billionaire Eike Batista.
