Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Recently booted "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Aaron Carter owes the government over $1 million in back taxes, according to papers filed by the Internal Revenue Service in Los Angeles.

The 21-year-old younger brother of Nick Carter owes the government $1,010,635.08. He owes more than $965,000 from 2003, and another $45,350.11 in 2006.

His manager, Johnny Wright, blames debt to his previous management team.

He told ET that while Carter was still a minor, his finances were grossly mismanaged by his previous people, leading to the debt. Carter is said to be unaware of the situation until it was reported. He is currently working with a new time to rectify the matter.

Last week, Carter was eliminated from the ABC reality show "Dancing with the Stars." He was partnered with professional dancer Karina Smirnoff.
