France, Uruguay, Algeria, Greece, Portugal Complete 2010 World Cup Finalists

Topics: Soccer, SportsParis, France (AHN) - William Gallas' controversial goal in extra time helped France squeeze into the World Cup finals with a 2-1 aggregate win over Ireland in a UEFA World Cup qualifying playoff tilt Wednesday.

The controversial goal came after a Thierry Henry handball en route to a 1-1 result enabling the French squad take the tie on aggregate.
Five more countries qualified, completing the 32 World Cup finalists.
Slovenia advanced to the World Cup finals for the second time since joining FIFA as an independent nation in 1992 following a 2-1 upset win over Russia.
Ukraine will also not be making the Cup finals after suffering a 1-0 defeat at Donetsk courtesy of Greece.
A second period goal from Raul Meireles gave Portugal a Cup finals spot with a 1-0 victory over Bosnia for a 2-0 aggregate win.
While the growing rivalry between Algeria and Egypt ended with the Desert Foxes logging a 1-0 victory over the Egyptian side.
The last place of the Cup finalist was taken by Uruguay following a 1-1 home draw over Costa Rica in the second leg of the South American/CONCACAF playoff in Montevideo.
Uruguay took first leg 1-0 at the weekend.
