New York, NY (CNS) - Jon Bon Jovi may be one of the world's most recognizable faces in the music industry today, but such was not the case in the mid-'80s. A female fan regrets resisting the rocker's charm when he was still starting with his band.

As retold by New York Daily News, a female fan used the Q&A section during an AmEx event at Alice Tully Hall to apologize to the Bon Jovi frontman for refusing him back then.

She said, "I have to say I'm sorry because in October of 1986, I kind of blew you off at the Stone Pony. I didn't know who you were, and I've never lived it down."

The happily married 47-year-old musician told her he's flattered but she wasn't the first who resisted him.

He said, "There's a couple of girls from high school who get slapped by their mothers every Christmas. They tell them they screwed up big time."

Bon Jovi married high school sweetheart Dorothea in 1989. They have four children together.
