Britney Spears Modifies "3" Lyrics

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Britney Spears' ménage a trois-themed song "3" has modified a line of its lyrics. Sony has sent a press release to Australian radio stations to replace their existing version of her latest single with a new one.

According to The Celebrity Truth, the 27-year-old pop star's record company sent out requests to radio stations to replace their existing version of "3" with a new cleaned up version.

The email, sent Wednesday, included a link to the edited song, which stated, "Please replace your existing version with this updated track ASAP." It did not provide a reason why.

The new "3" lyrics was changed from "Livin' in sin is the new thing" to "Livin' with this is the new thing."

"3" was released in September to a positive critical response although laden with controversy due to its theme. It debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
