Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Rod Stewart has been slapped with a $3.3 million lawsuit by his former lawyers. The law firm who represented the rocker for more than 20 years and on 19 different matters wants payment for its work on his three cases.

Los Angeles-based Glaser, Weil, Fink, Jacobs, Howard & Shapiro claims the British artist failed to pay them for their legal services on three separate cases.

The firm defended him from a suit filed against him in December 2000 for pulling out of a New Year's Eve gig in Las Vegas. He claimed he was still recovering from throat cancer recovery. He was ordered to pay $2 million.

They also defended him in a lengthy battle over canceled South American concerts and for a trademark infringement suit.
