BET.com Launches First Web Series "Buppies" On November 24

Topics: TelevisionNew York, NY (CNS) - BET.com has announced the launch of their first web based series that is entitled "Buppies" that starts on Tuesday, November 24th. The series will run for 10 episodes over 10 weeks and tells the tales of LA's young black professional elite.

The setting for the show is the world of Black Hollywood and is the first kind of series to feature an African-American principal cast. "Buppies" will tell the dramas of the five friends as they go through the busy LA world staying true to their friendships.
The first of these women is Quinci Allen, played by Tatyana Allen, who is best known for playing Ashley Banks in the TV show "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." Then there is Priscilla, played by Robin Thede, who is regularly seen on E! News Daily as a freelance reporter. Ernest Waddell has been cast as Shaka and has been in such TV shows as HBO's "The Wire" and "One Tree Hill." Eliot is played by Preston Davis II, who is currently starring in "Entourage." Finally there is Kourtney, played by Chante Freirson, who has been recently starring in the San Diego Musical Theater production of "Dreamgirls."
In the first episode Quinci is dealing with the loss of her father and the break up with her basketball star fiancé, as well as being a socialite daughter of a Hollywood Celebrity. The group of friends attempt to cheer up their friend Quinci with a birthday party, but the celebrations turn in to a series of drama and deep secrets.
