Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Britney Spears just released her second hits compilation in five years and with only one new track (we forgive you, Britney). But the reason Spears is being stingy with the new material is that she's saving it for her new album, which could drop as early as May.

The New York Post reports that Spears is looking at a Spring release for her seventh studio album and the first since 2008's "Circus." The last time Spears released an album outside of the 4th quarter was 2000's "Oops!..I Did It Again."

The new album is set to feature productions from some of Spears' biggest collaborators. She's reportedly working with Danja ("Gimme More," "Break the Ice") Sean Garrett (who produced the must-download "Blackout" cut "Toy Soldier"), Fernando Garibay (Lady Gaga's "Dance in the Dark"), and Max Martin (her #1 hits "..Baby One More Time" and "3.")

She's also reportedly working with David Guetta, who's currently topped the charts as producer of Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling" and his own collaboration with Akon, "Sexy B----."
