Lawrence, KS (AHN) - In the wake of the ongoing investigation by the Kansas University on football head coach Mark Mangino, former Jayhawks players have come out and revealed their negative experiences playing for him.

Kansas athletics department is looking into allegations that Mangino verbally abused players and had physical contact with them.

The latest incident involved linebacker Arist Wright during a walk-through practice in October.

Though classified as old-school methods, former players who were subjected to verbal and physical abuse have criticized Mangino's coaching style.

Former Kansas running back Jocques Crawford, who played one season before leaving the program, reportedly said that Mangino's motto was to "break you down to build you up."

Apparently the results were not favorable, as recipients of the alleged abuses reportedly transferred to other schools.

Mangino, credited for taking the football program to new heights of success before this mediocre season, has denied inappropriate behavior.
