Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Chris Brown has passed his progress report. The "Forever" hitmaker appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court Thursday for his first checkup hearing since assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna in February.

Judge Patricia Schnegg told the 20-year-old singer that she received "an extremely favorable progress report" on him from the probation department.

Brown was ordered to render 180 days of community labor in Virginia as his sentence for attacking the "Umbrella" singer earlier this year. He was also sentenced to five years' probation and ordered to complete one-year antidomestic violence program.

So far, he has completed more than 100 hours of community service and completed seven out of his fifty-two domestic violence classes. He has also provided the court with DNA samples, paid all fines and court fees.

His next court hearing is scheduled on February 18.
