Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - "La Bomba" is coming to Springfield. Ricardo Bomba, created by grand prize contest winner Peggy Black of Orange, CT, is the newest character to grace Fox's longest-running animated series "The Simpsons."

Black's entry earned the most votes in "The Simpsons" character contest, earning her a trip to Los Angeles, where she met with the show's producers and animators and worked with them to bring Ricardo Bomba to life.

The character, nicknamed "La Bomba," a South American smooth-talking ladies' man with a "luxurious black mane, a chiseled physique and a voice as smooth as silk." He works as a safety inspector at the town's nuclear power plant during the day, while at night he works Springfield's singles scene, where he melts women's hearts all over town.

Ricardo will make his debut in the "Million Dollar Maybe" episode of the show on January 31.

In the episode, Homer abandons a date with Marge to buy a lottery ticket. When he wins the million-dollar jackpot, he fears how she will react when she finds out why he missed their date. He then keeps his new fortune a secret, and spoils his family with "anonymous gifts."

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin will also make a special guest voice appearance as himself.

The character-making contest is part of the year-long global celebration of "The Simpsons." It launched in January this year and will conclude in January 2010, the 20th anniversary of the show's debut.
