The Sacha Baron Cohen comedy was released on November 17 through Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Available in either a single disc DVD or a 2-disc Blu-ray, the exploits of the title character are sure to bring laughs in either format.
Life is good for Austrian celebrity Brüno (Baron Cohen) as the nation's foremost gay fashion reporter. But after a bizarre accident on a Milan runway, he not only gets fired but finds himself without a lover. So, with nothing left for him in Europe, Brüno heads to America to re-invent himself as a celebrity. But becoming a big name isn't as easy as he thinks, and only by going a journey of self-discovery that includes everything from visiting a psychic medium to traveling to the Middle East on a quest for world peace can he find out what he really wants.
Baron Cohen's follow-up to 2006's "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan" is another mockumentary focused on exposing stereotypes and pushing the envelope with plenty of risqué humor. Besides the antics of Brüno - who debuted as a side character on comedian Baron Cohen's "Da Ali G Show" along with Kazakhstan-based reporter Borat - there are plenty of celebrity cameos, ranging from politician Ron Paul to Paula Abdul to Harrison Ford. And with a musical scene involving Elton John, Bono, Chris Martin, Sting, Snoop Dogg and Slash, there's no end to the entertainment in the movie that Rolling Stone film critic Peter Travers recommends as "Numero uno on your funny-time list!"
Among the special features on the DVD and Blu-ray are alternate scenes, enhanced commentary and interviews. Exclusive to the Blu-ray are BD Live, Pocket Blu and Digital Copy of the film, available for download on most electronic devices.
"Brüno" retails for $29.98 for the DVD and $39.98 for the Blu-ray.
