Atlanta, GA (AHN) - Martin Skoula tallied a power goal in the opening frame and added another goal in the second period, helping the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 3-2 win over the Atlanta Thrashers Saturday at Phillips Arena.

Evgeni Malkin accounted for the other goal, while Marc-Andre Fleury finished with 31 stops for the Penguins, who bounced back after Thursday's disappointing setback in Ottawa.

That setback halted Pittsburgh's two-game win streak.

The defending Stanley Cup champions Penguins (15-8-0), who have been successful in three of their last four contests, conclude their three-game road swing in Florida Monday.

The Thrashers scored twice in the second frame courtesy of Chris Thorburn and Maxim Afinogenov.

But Atlanta could not sustain down the stretch, dropping to its second consecutive loss after posting a four-game winning streak.

Atlanta will aim to bounce back when it hosts Tampa Bay Sunday.
