Pybus assumed command of U.S. Special Operations Command's Pacific division in June after a long career as a Naval Special Warfare (NSW) SEAL officer.

Pybus will meet with the Army, Air Force and Navy Chiefs of Staff and other senior Bangladeshi government officials on issues related to U.S. security and counter-terrorism cooperation.
"His meetings will focus on interoperability, readiness in the region, security force assistance, and bilateral approaches to maintaining regional stability," according to the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka. The visit underscores the importance of cooperation on security and counter-terrorism between the U.S. and Bangladesh, a predominantly Muslim country that borders India and Myanmar.
