European Shares Start Week In Buying Mood

London, UK (AHN) - Green meant go for European shares on Monday as almost all markets restarted their financial engines to zoom away from several days of decline.

The CAC-40 and the DAX were among the most active indices. The Paris market climbed 84 points, or 2.25 percent, to finish at 3,813.17, while Frankfurt shares jumped 138 points, or 2.44 percent, to 5,801.48.

In London, the FTSE 100 rose 104 points, or 2 percent, to 5,355.50.

The Dow Jones Stoxx 600 added 4.8 points, or 2 percent, to end trading at 248.37. It declined for four days last week.

Declines appeared isolated to secondary markets. The All Share index in Iceland fell 17 points, or 3.5 percent, to 474.08, as the Latvian OMX slipped 1 point, or 0.4 percent, to 299.78.
