New York, NY (CNS) - 50 Cent and Mexican style-food chain Taco Bell have settled their legal differences. The "In Da Club" hitmaker claimed last year that the eatery used his name in its advertising campaign without permission.

The superstar rapper - real name Curtis Jackson - filed a lawsuit in federal court in Manhattan in July 2008, alleging Taco's 79-89-99 Cent Why Pay More campaign used the hip-hop star's name and trademark without his authorization.

As part of its national campaign, Taco asked the rapper through a letter sent out to news outlets to change his name to "79 Cent," "89 Cent," or "99 Cent" for a day to promote its menu items that cost less than a dollar.

It offered to donate $10,000 to a charity of his choice if he agreed to the bet.

On Monday, the two parties have reached a settlement. Terms of their agreement were not disclosed, but they said both sides are satisfied.
