Colin Hanks Birthplace: Sacramento, CA Birthdate: November 24, 1977 Sign: Scorpio

Colin Hanks is the son of Tom Hanks and Samantha Lewes. He was born Colin Lewes Dillingham, but took his father's last name when his parents married. His mother Samantha passed away in 2002 after battling bone cancer.

Hanks originally attended Chapman University in Orange County, but later transferred to Loyola, deciding to take after his father and study acting. While attending Chapman, his father filmed "That Thing You Do!" and used Colin's friends as extras.

After college, Colin went on to land a role as Alex Whitman on WB's "Roswell." In 2000, he starred in a youthful, modern version of the Cyrano de Bergerac story titled "Whatever It Takes" playing Cosmo, alongside James Franco and Shane West.

His other acting credits include an appearance on the HBO series "Band of Brothers" and a role as Felix in "Get Over It" in 2001. In 2002, he had a small role in Melissa Gilbert's "Under the Mimosa" with Shelley Duvall. He also starred alongside Jack Black and John Lithgow in the comedy "Orange County."

Hanks also starred in "House Bunny" in the summer comedy alongside Anna Faris and in the cyber crime flick "Untraceable" alongside Diane Lane. He has also made several guest appearances on AMC's "Mad Men."

He can be seen next in a new indie comedy, "Lucky," alongside Ari Graynor, Ann-Margret and Jeffrey Tambor.

Hanks has dated Rachael Leigh Cook and Busy Phillipps. He is currently engaged to publicist Samantha Bryant.
