New York, NY (CNS) - Feminists and gay activists are outraged over ABC's decision to cancel Adam Lambert's guest appearance on "Good Morning America" after his raunchy AMA Award performance and booking convicted girlfriend-beater Chris Brown.

Brown will be filming his interview with Robin Roberts, followed by a performance of his songs from his new album, according to the New York Post. The tell-all interview will be aired the week after next.

The move comes after ABC canceled Lambert for his performance at the American Music Awards on Sunday, wherein he was seen groping a female dancer, shoving another one's face into his crotch, and kissing a male keyboardist.

An ABC source told the paper that the network is giving a mixed message, saying it doesn't trust "someone who shocked with an unpredictable show and a gay kiss, but then it is happy to go ahead with Chris Brown, who was convicted of felony assault."

A network executive explained that Brown's interview was booked before Lambert's sexed-up stage gig.
