Road Accident Kills Nine In Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (AHN) - At least nine people were killed and 30 others wounded as a passenger bus crashed into a roadside ditch in the country's north-central Mymensingh district on early Sunday, police said.

The accident occurred as a Mymensingh-bound bus from the capital, Dhaka skidded off the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Meherabari in Bhaluka upazila (sub-district) after hitting a tree "as the driver lost control over the steering."

Three passengers died on the spot and others six died in different hospitals, local police reportedly confirmed.
