The event called, "A Nation In Solidarity Against Terror" was organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) at the capital's historical landmark the India Gate.

A ministry release said, "The terror attacks were meant to weaken the resolve of the country and challenge its capacity to remain a peaceful and democratic Nation. The MHA proposes to send a strong message that India has the capacity, the courage and the confidence to overcome the threat."
"The event has a simple message: Terror has no religion. Our solidarity, courage and resoluteness are the answer to the threat of terror," the release added.
The event was attended by artists, sportspeople and representatives of civil society from across the country.
Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan, said he is often asked about his opinion on terrorism. "There can be no two opinions on that. But I think people ask my views because I am Muslim and they want to know that their views match mine."
The program also saw witness accounts of terror survivors.
Home Minister P. Chidambaram, I&B minister Ambika Soni, Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi were a few of the politicians who were present at the event.
