Topics: Sports, NFLNew York, NY (AHN) - Eli Manning has been trying to soldier through a plantar fasciitis in his right foot, but the effort may have been fruitless as the injury may be a serious concern for the New York Giants.

MRIs on the foot have revealed that the cuboid bone has had a stress reaction.
While a stress reaction isn't immediately serious, it increases a player's susceptibility to a stress fracture.
Manning played against Denver Sunday, putting up 230 yards with 24 completions over 40 passes, though he was unable to drive in any touchdowns as the Broncos won easily 26-6.
Thus far, the Giants have no plans to sit Manning, as the injury isn't severe enough yet.
If it does develop into a stress fracture, however, he's looking at missing the rest of the season.
Manning is having arguably his finest season statistically, throwing 18 touchdowns in 11 games.
He has earned a 89.2 rating, highest in his career, and is completing 60.5 of his passes - another career high.
The Giants face the Dallas Cowboys next, a crucial game that has the potential to make or break the rest of their season.
