New York, NY, United States (AHN) - Nolan Smith scored 24 points helping Duke cruise past Gonzaga in rout 76-41 at Madison Square Garden Saturday afternoon in the Aeropostale Classic.

Duke guard Jon Scheyer also had a nice game scoring 20 points with eight assists.

The Blue Devils dominated the game from the tip-off and held Gonzaga to a season low 41 points.

The Bulldogs shot a season low 27.8 percent from the field, only scoring 17 points at halftime.

Gonzaga packed it in and only managed to score 24 points in the second half.

Not one Gonzaga player scored in double figures, with leading scorer center Robert Scare netting nine points.

The three pointers for Duke were falling all night.

Duke shot 6 for 18 from behind the arch while the Zags shot a dismal 1 for 10.

Duke has made at least one three pointer in 700 consecutive games.

It marked the lowest point total by a Gonzaga team in nearly 25 years when they lost to Iowa 62-40 back on Nov. 28, 1984.

Madison Square Garden has been a home away from home for the Blue Devils, who have won 13 of their last 14 games in the building.

Duke improves to (9-1) on the season in an impressive win over another top ranked opponent.

Duke will look to keep rolling when they face Long Beach State (6-4) on Dec. 29th.

Gonzaga falls to (8-3) and will look to bounce back against Eastern Washington (4-6) on Dec. 28th.
