Burbank, CA, United States (CNS) - "Gary Unmarried: The Complete First Season" is currently available on DVD.

The first season of the CBS sitcom hit stores on February 9, released by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment. The recipient of the 2009 People's Choice Award for Favorite New TV Comedy, the show gets a whole new look when audiences view it on DVD, thanks to its many special features.

"Saturday Night Live" player Jay Mohr stars as the title character, Gary Brooks, a recently divorced father of two, who's struggling to keep his sanity as he juggles his job as a painting contractor with his family life with his 14-year-old son (Ryan Malgarini), 11-year-old daughter (Kathryn Newton) and his ex-wife (Paula Marshall), who still factors in heavily to his everyday life. The addition of a new girlfriend (Jaime King) only complicates Gary's already cluttered life, but his ex's own engagement throws things even further off kilter.

The series, which comes from Emmy-winning producer and director James Burrows - whose credits include "Taxi," "Cheers" and Friends" - also features Al Madrigal and Ed Begley Jr., as well as guest star Jane Curtin.

All 20 of the first season are part of the three-disc set. The special features for the DVD include the blooper segment "Gary Unhinged"; "The Chemistry of Comedy," a tour of the show courtesy of the cast and crew; "Planet Begley," featuring cast member Begley's efforts to bring his famous eco-consciousness to his latest work; and "Tuesday on the Set with Jay," a day in the life with Mohr as he works on the show.

"Gary Unmarried: The Complete First Season" retails on DVD for $39.99.
