World Bank grants $500M for Philippine flood recoveryIn an attempt to help in the reconstruction effort after Tropical Storm Washi, the World Bank on Thursday granted $500 million to the Philippines government. The storm, which brought heavy rains and flash floods to the southern Philippines between Dec. 16 and 18, reportedly killed 1,200 and left nearly 376,000 homeless.
