Bishops Will Sue Feds Over Contraception RuleThe Department of Health and Human Services made no changes to a rule released in August that exempted some religious organizations, like those that employ or serve people who follow its religion, from the requirement. But religious organizations that do not meet those qualifications would be required to provide contraceptive coverage to employees. While churches are exempt, for example, religious universities and hospitals are not.

Group leaves Presbyterian Church to form 'reformed' denominationSome members of the Presbyterian Church have created a new denomination they say is a "reformed body" with "accountable relationships" among its leaders. Joran van der Sloot pleads guilty to 2010 murder of Peruvian womanJoran van der Sloot entered a guilty plea to murdering Stephany Flores in a Peruvian court on Wednesday. His lawyer said that he hoped that van der Sloot's cooperation, guilty plea and expression of remorse would result in a lighter sentence. He will be sentenced Friday morning.

Judge rules for Arm & Hammer in case against Clorox cat litterA Manhattan judge has ruled in favor of Arm & Hammer in the company's lawsuit against Clorox, which was found to have made false claims in a television ad on cat litter. Clorox is enjoined from airing the commercial, which is based on a test involving jars of used litter, some with carbon, some with baking soda, that were sealed for at least 22 hours and then sniffed by 11 human testers in a sensory booth.
