Martin rushed for 14,101 and 90 touchdowns, including at least 1,000 yards in each of his first 10 seasons.

Ex-Reds star shortstop Barry Larkin to be inducted into baseball HallFormer Cincinnati Reds shortstop Barry Larkin was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame Monday, collecting 86.4 percent of the vote by the Baseball Writers' Association of America. Larkin joins the late Chicago Cubs third baseman Ron Santo in earning induction.

South Korean table tennis great Hyun Jung-hwa inducted into HOFFormer Olympic gold medalist and world champion Hyun Jung-hwa from South Korea was inducted into the International Table Tennis Hall of Fame this week. Hyun was part of the historic Unified Korea team that shocked China at the 1991 Worlds Championship in Chiba City.

Brewers' Ryan Braun edges out Dodgers' Matt Kemp for NL MVP honorRyan Braun of the Milwaukee Brewers edged out Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers for NL MVP honors in writing from the Baseball Writers Association of America voting released Monday. Braun received 20 of 32 first place votes for 388 points, compared to 10 and 332 for Kemp.

Tigers ace pitcher Justin Verlander snags AL MVP prizeDetroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander, who led the AL in wins with 24, strikeouts with 250 and ERA at 2.40, took home the AL MVP honor Monday. He became the first pitcher since 1992 to win MVP honors, following the great Dennis Eckersley in accomplishing the feat.
